RUSTY HUBER WINS DIVISION 2 MVP & BATTING AWARD

Congratulations to Mariner Pitcher & Slugger Rusty Huber on being rewarded for his outstanding efforts this Summer season by winning the Victorian Summer Baseball League Division 2 MVP polling a massive 40 Votes & Batting Award, he also finished 2nd in the pitching award, he was also outstanding at Short Stop when not pitching,

Rusty’s season at the club was no less than brilliant, but outside of game day Rusty was even more valuable to the club, on training nights he was always imparting his knowledge of the game on others and constantly giving coaching tips and guidance to all Senior players, assistant coach of our Women’s team, he ran dozens of school clinics at all the local schools, ran one on one sessions with players that requested it, was invaluable during our Christmas Tree fundraiser,

But most definitely Rusty’s most satisfying achievement of the season was his work on training nights with our Junior program & coaching the Under 14s to a Premiership,

Our Junior Program produced a phenomenal 9 players selected to Charter & State teams, this was in part thanks to the time & effort Rusty put into developing and improving our junior programs skills & baseball knowledge.

There has never been an import player at the club that has had such a big influence on and off the field.

Rusty you should be very proud of what you have achieved individually & how you have made our club better this season.
