Senior Player Information 

Senior Baseball at PMBC

The Port Melbourne Baseball Club strives to create an inclusive environment that supports player development at all levels of Senior baseball. We place a strong emphasis on building a culture that respects all facets of the PMBC, our history, the game of baseball, umpires, and opposition. It is of the utmost importance that we create an etiquette throughout the club that forges a mantra of a club first attitude to build a positive and hard working culture.

Training Etiquette

-All Senior Squad members must attend the main training session each week to be eligible for Senior selection.

- Each Player MUST be dressed and ready to go 5 minutes prior to each training session.

- If you cannot make a training session, coaches must be notified prior to each training session.

- Each player needs to display a commitment, and strong work ethic to apply themselves to a quality practice.

- Each Player MUST aid in the cleaning up of the field after each training session until all is finished.

- Each Player needs to venture back to the clubhouse on selection nights for a drink and a meal, or head to our Club Sponsor if dinner is provided there.

Game Day Etiquette

Firsts

- All Players must be at the ground at 1pm to watch and support the 2nds on each game day. Coaches will provide a time to begin the warm-up.

- All Players must aid in the cleaning up of the field at the end of each home game.

- All Players must socialise after each game, both home and away for 2 drinks.

Seconds

- All Players must be at the ground at 11:45 for both home and away games. Home games we will need all to aid in setting the field up.

- All Players must aid in cleaning up the diamond in preparation for the Senior game.

- All Senior Squad members will be required to sit on the bench in the Seniors.

- All remaining 2nds Players must watch and support the Seniors for 3 innings.

Thirds

- All Players must be at the ground at 1pm to watch and support the 4ths on each game day. Coaches will provide a time to begin the warm-up.

- All Players must aid in the cleaning up of the field at the end of each home game.

- All Players must socialise after each game, both home and away for 2 drinks.

Fourths

- All Players must be at the ground at 11:45 for both home and away games. Home games we will need all to aid in setting the field up.

- All Players must aid in cleaning up the diamond in preparation for the Thirds game.

- All remaining 2nds Players must watch and support the Seniors for 3 innings.

Mid-week Senior Games

- All Senior Squad members are required to be at each Mid-week game.

- Arrive at the ground from 5.15 onwards, work permitted.

- All players must aid in the cleaning up of the field at the end of each home game.

Registration/Fees Etiquette

- All Players are required to pay the BV registration prior to the commencement of the season.

- All Players are required to pay the PMBC Fess by their due date.

- PMBC Fees are required to be paid prior to the commencement of the season.

- If Fees are not paid prior to the commencement of the season, a payment plan         must be entered in to.

- If Registration/Fees are not paid by the due dates, and payment plans are not entered into, availability for selection will be at the discretion of the Committee.   

Social/Volunteer Etiquette

- Each Player is expected to partake in all PMBC functions and events, and support the club to make us the best club that we can be.

- Each Player will be required to donate a portion of their time to aid in the running of the club through one of the following;

   - Christmas tree fundraiser

   - Senior/Junior Mentor Program

   - Senior/Junior Umpiring Roster

   - Junior Coaching/Training

   - Scoring Roster

   - Canteen Roster

   - Social/Fundraising Events

- All members to help each other where required to be able to put our Senior and Junior teams out on the field each season.

Our club has a proud history of which we all become the custodians and impart this history and culture onto the next era of Mariners. We each have a responsibility to carry it in high regard and with respect at all times. The most precious commodity that anyone can provide, is their own dedicated time, if we all band together in a dedicated cause in donating our time we will make the Port Melbourne Baseball Club the best that it can be.
