Junior Program

Who can play for Port Melbourne?

Anyone! Boy or girl, 4 years old or 17, we want you to come and play for us. We are one of the cheapest and most fun ways to get outside and enjoy an exciting team sport that kids love. Contact us to find out more and come and play!

Games

For most of our Juniors games will be played Sunday’s at 9am. Half of the games will be at JL Murphy Reserve in Port Melbourne and half will be at away venues in Melbourne. Games typically run for two hours in length.

Training

Training times are Tuesday’s & Thurday’s 4.30pm-6.00pm however any player at the club may use our batting cage/field at any time under adult supervision. All trainings will be at JL Murphy Reserve in Port Melbourne.

Parent Help

To support our coaches and teams, parent help is required and welcomed at training and especially at home games for set-up, scoring, pack-up and canteen duties. Each team will be required to have a Team Manager. Baseball knowledge is not a necessity! We will help you learn and pickup the game as in depth as you would like.

Registration and Fees

It is important to register as soon as possible so that players can be allocated to a team and teams can then be entered into the right competition. Fees include an insurance component and must be paid by the first game.

Uniform

Junior teams wear a Port Melbourne Mariners Junior Uniform which can be ordered from our online shop and will be handed out to each player by the first game. Proper uniform is Baseball Pants (Grey), a Playing Top, PMBC Cap and red belt with red socks.
