At the Senior Presentation Night last night, the Port Melbourne Baseball Club inducted George Camov into its Hall if Fame,

making him only the 6th Hall of Fame inductee in the 95 year history of the Port Melbourne Mariners Baseball Club

George began playing at the Club as an 8 year old in 1968, playing in his first premiership with the Under 13s in 1973,

he has coached numerous Junior & Senior teams over the years including a stint as Club Coach,

In the prime of his career he took the opportunity to further his career playing Division 1 with Sandringham (10 seasons) and also had a spell at Williamstown (2 seasons), so he would be well over the 1000 Senior Games Played across the 3 clubs,

George found his way back to Port and continued playing right up to today,

he still plays ok at 63, winning the 4th Nine Batting Award while coaching the team to a Semi-Finals berth and finishing in the Top 10 of this seasons Batting Club Champion Award.

He has been a Committee Member for over 20 years, 9 of those years as President,

A long time Club Sponsor, often purchasing the uniforms for our Junior program,

In 2014 George started up & Coached our Winter program which has produced 3 Senior and 5 Junior Premierships,

he also in recent years formed the clubs first ever Masters team which he coaches, in only its 3rd season the team finished 1 run short of a Grand Final berth,

All in all a much deserved reward for his extraordinary contribution to the club.
